Commissioned Work
Shelley Heffler creates commissioned artworks that respond to space, context, and human presence. Each project is developed through dialogue—allowing scale, configuration, and material language to emerge in relation to its environment.
Her commissioned work spans private residences, institutional settings, and public spaces, and is informed by an ongoing investigation of movement, light, and transformation.
The Process
Every commission begins with a conversation.
Together, we consider:
  • The physical space and architecture
  • How people move through and experience the environment
  • Scale, placement, and spatial relationships
From there, a proposal is developed that reflects both the site and the conceptual language of the work.
Contexts
Commissions may include:
  • Private residences
  • Hospitals and healing environments
  • Corporate and institutional settings
  • Public art and civic spaces
