We are Home. A year long project that I conceived during the time of Quarantine. This monumental project is in affiliation with South Los Angeles Contemporary Gallery, a non-profit organization located in Crenshaw, Los Angeles. Community members were asked to create a 12 x12 inch square with the theme of Home. this collective effort brought in more than 130 pieces that I personally sewed trims and backings on. With the help of Linda Jo Russell, we delivered and hung the work in Lancaster Museum of Art and History where it will be on display until September. At the end of the year, we will auction each piece and the profits will be going to the Unhoused.
I appreciate everyone who donated a quilt block to this project. A catalog can be purchased on Amazon. If you are interested in participating in the auction in December contact info@solacontemporary.org.
