Rescued Refuse 2018-2022
Rescued Refuse is the first series in my exploration of discarded vinyl street banners as an artistic material. Originally created to advertise temporary events and then destined for landfills, these non-biodegradable banners carry both a history and an environmental burden. I was drawn to the challenge of transforming a material that will never return to the earth into something that holds lasting meaning and value. The series reflects my interest in renewal, sustainability, and reconsidering what we choose to discard.
