Rescued Refuse 2018-2022
I am a visual artist who is passionate about exploring the tactile and physical possibilities of paint and other materials in order to create intricate, labor-intensive artworks. My process involves cutting apart and reassembling various materials, including remnants of paintings, found objects, and vinyl banner advertisements, in order to produce new pieces.
My approach to making art is focused on crafting rather than simply executing, and I am interested in the way that the process itself can serve as the impetus for creating new work. Additionally, I am drawn to the idea of using these materials to explore the relationship between humanity and nature, and how the fragments of human imprint can serve as a mark of connection between the two.
Overall, my work is characterized by a thoughtful and deliberate approach to art-making, as well as a strong interest in exploring the connections between materials, process, and the natural world.
